Instructional Assistant (.75 FTE) 6 hours a day

 

Fossil Charter School is the heart of this rural community nestled in a valley in north central Oregon. At our elementary school, the class sizes are very small. The classrooms are almost all blended (currently K, 1/2, 3/4, and 5/6) and average seven students per teacher.

 

The teaching staff is collegial and the Administration is supportive of professional growth and innovative ideas for providing the best for our students. We are seeking a teacher who is excited about reaching every student and being a part of our educational community.

Job Purpose Statement:

 

Supervises and supports students normally in both the classroom and non-classroom activities including playgrounds, lunchrooms, hallways, detention rooms and other in-door or outdoor gathering places for students, and assists with school clerical duties.

 

Job Qualifications: Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent;
  • 72 quarter hours of accredited college or equivalent education or successfully passed Work Keys Test in the areas of Math, Reading, and Business Writing - Preferrred

Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:

  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
  • Valid Driver’s License and evidence of insurability
  • Successfully pass district background screening

  • Ability to accurately perform alphabetizing, record-keeping and filing procedures.

  • Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to apply school district rules, regulations, policies and practices in a fair, consistent manner.
