Job Purpose Statement:
The position of Head Cook is done for the purpose/s of planning meals in accordance with federal guidelines, directing and assisting staff in preparing, cooking, serving of food in a school cafeteria, and overseas and schedules support staff, student workers and volunteers.
Job Qualifications: Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in food service delivery and preparation
- Experience in Point of Service Software
- Experience in Federal Nutritional Requirements for Schools and Commodities Programs
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
- Valid Driver’s License and evidence of insurability
- Food Handlers Certification
- Successfully pass district background screening
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to prioritize and plan all meals and use time efficiently.
- Ability to approach others in a tactful manner.
- Ability to follow instructions and respond to supervisor direction.
- Ability to provide full serve breakfast and lunch program
