North Central ESD Early Education has an opening for an Education Coordinator. This person will work closely with community Preschools and families throughout Wheeler and Sherman counties to ensure preschools meet Head Start & Preschool Promise performance standards.
Job Purpose Statement:
OPK and Family Health Coordinator works under the direction of the Program Director providing support for the Oregon Pre-K Program to include assistance with planning, working with families in the local service area.
Job Qualifications: Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; AA or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Oregon Registry Online enrollment preferred
- Head Start experience preferred
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
- Enrollment in Central Background Registry
- Valid Driver’s License and evidence of insurability
- First Aid Certification
- Successfully pass district background screening

Essential Job Functions:

- Schedule and meet with families to complete recruitment and home visits.
- Participate in professional development activities and organized community events.
- Design and deliver formal presentations as requested
- Support teachers in using Creative Curriculum, TS Gold, and Child Plus
- Ability to exercise good judgment in stressful situations.
- Ability to operate basic office and audio-visual equipment.
- Ability to accurately perform alphabetizing, record-keeping and filing procedures.
- Ability to accurately transfer, record and convey information and materials, as required by the position.
- Ability to abide by the confidentiality rights of students and parents.
- Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Ability to apply school district rules, regulations, policies and practices in a fair, consistent manner.
- Work with component school districts in organizing and coordinating school improvement initiatives including: Response to Intervention (RTI), Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS), Professional Learning Communities (PLC), Common Core State Standards (CCSS), and other initiatives designed to improve student performance.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned to support the success of the agency.
