Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for an energetic, motivated, and inspiring leader to oversee our thriving early education team of professionals and early learning center. As the director, you will be committed to our mission and to the success of the center by ensuring effective management of all education, teaching, licensing, and safety standards, while striving for continued quality care. Ensuring consistent finances through sound fiscal management, fundraising, grant writing and annual contracts and subsidies. Director will be responsible for creating business plan, reporting revenue, and directing organizational strategy.
- Quarterly and Annual budgets
- Grant Writing and reporting
- Human resources duties -AFLAC & Oregon Saves
- Leading Fundraising Efforts
- Annual Recertification with the Office of Child Care Division
- Promote ongoing partnership and communication with Umatilla Head Start
- Policy development and enforcement
- Approving staff schedule and time off requests
- Provide regularly scheduled supervision and observation of teachers and prepare staff evaluations
- Facilitate monthly staff meetings and team building
- Attend monthly board meetings, prepare Director’s report
- Attend Early Childhood and Early Learning Hub meetings
- Attend MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) Meetings
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Oversite and management of staff
- Maintaining Legal Compliance
- Leadership, coaching and managing experience. Integrity, a positive attitude, and being mission driven and self-directed are requirements for this position.
- Must meet Oregon licensing guidelines for the role and pass a background check
- Holding an Associate’s Degree in business, a degree in early education or related field or a Step 9 on the Oregon Registry.
- The ability to manage a staff of up to fifteen and to develop high performance teams, set and achieve strategic goals
- Manage a budget to include payroll and associated taxes and all business operating expenses
- Microsoft office skills
- QuickBooks proficiency
- Learn the Pro-Care System in 3 months
- Strong written and communication skills
- Action oriented, entrepreneurial, and adaptable to business planning
