Arlington School District is seeking applicants for a .5 FTE Bus Driver and a .5 FTE Custodian.
This position includes two jobs with separate wages.
- The custodial job will have a salary range of $21.54 - $29.41 per hour.
- The route driver job will have a range of $21.54 - $29.41 per hour.

Bus Driver Job Summary: Transporting students safely to and from school and school-related activities. Providing a consistent, safe “face” for the students to see every day and making a differencez in a child’s life. Normally works 4 hours per day on a split shift (approximately): 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. More hours may be available
Qualifications:
- Experience Preferred: Three years of experience driving personal and/or commercial vehicles.
- District will train if needed.
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:
- Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain CDL licenses, certifications and cards necessary for operating a school bus.
- The aforementioned must be in the driver’s possession while on duty. Ability to pass DOT physical examinations.
- Possess a driving record which meets or exceeds ODE and District standards.
- Pass pre-employment alcohol/controlled substance tests; will also be subject to random selection for mandatory alcohol/controlled substance testing.
- Oregon Fingerprint and Criminal background check clearance.

Custodian Job Summary: The position of Custodian is done for the purpose/s of maintaining an attractive, sanitary and safe facility; providing adequate arrangements for meetings, classroom activities and events; and minimizing property damage, loss and liability exposure. Employees classified as Custodian I are usually assigned to work during evening hours but may be required to work other schedules. These employees do not supervise others.
Job Qualifications: Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in building maintenance preferred
- Training in asbestos identification and BBP training
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
- Valid Driver’s License and evidence of insurability
- Successfully pass district background screening
